According to 2018 data from the International Energy Agency (IEA), the share of renewables in meeting global energy demand “is expected to grow by one-fifth in the next five years to reach 12.4% in 2023". The 2019 Global Talent Energy Index Report (GETI), produced by Airswift and Energy Jobline, highlights just how tough energy companies are finding it to attract and retain the best in engineering talent for their current and future projects. More than half of those surveyed in the renewables sector said they were “quite” or “very” worried about an impending talent crisis, with 30% believing it’s already here.
