We are recruiting on behalf of a global consultancy that partners with clients in the energy, chemicals, and resources sectors. The project is a significant gold mining operation that includes both underground and open-pit mining.
The role
As a Senior Buyer, you will play a key role in the Procurement team, working on a high-profile project in Perth. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for purchasing a diverse range of materials and equipment on a competitive basis. This role involves leading project procurement strategy development and implementation, advising on supply and risk, and ensuring the effective delivery of services to both the company and its clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project procurement strategy development and implementation.
- Purchase a wide diversity of materials and equipment.
- Act as the Lead Buyer or technical expert for complex purchasing projects.
- Supervise and guide project teams, including assigning activities and providing job-related guidance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met.
- A university degree or equivalent in a related field or applicable discipline.
- Extensive experience in procurement, particularly with EPCM in the energy, chemicals, or resources sectors.
- Advanced knowledge and expertise in procurement, with the ability to lead and supervise project teams.
- Strong understanding of procurement systems, processes, and tools.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to inform and persuade stakeholders.
