The role
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Perth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering services that comply with client and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and review mechanical package deliverables, including datasheets, specifications, technical bid evaluations, drawings, calculations, and reports.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary reviews of vendor data and drawings.
- Manage and expedite vendor packages to meet project scope and schedule.
- Liaise with vendors during technical bid evaluations and throughout the execution and delivery phases.
- Ensure clarity of project scope and manage changes through established processes.
- Participate in meetings and adhere to checking procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the team, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Evaluate vendor equipment supply proposals.
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Resolve discrepancies and develop innovative solutions as needed.
What you'll need to succeed
- Technical Skills and Experience:
- Excellent technical and practical engineering skills, consistently delivering quality, accurate, and timely work.
- Experience in equipment package management, document review, and consolidation.
- Familiarity with national and international equipment design standards, such as ASME, API, and Australian Standards.
- Knowledge of refinery equipment material requirements and considerations to avoid common failure mechanisms with items such as Hydrogen, H2S, etc.
- Understanding of piping, pipe supports, and their interfaces with mechanical equipment.
- Expertise in Brownfields and Greenfields engineering, equipment layout, and interpreting mechanical, piping, and P&ID drawings.
- Knowledge of local and international standards, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven track record of delivering multiple mechanical packages on major projects within the hydrocarbon or renewable energy industries.
- Proficiency in relevant software, including MS Office Suite, Navisworks, and Bluebeam/Adobe Suite.
- Interpersonal and Management Skills:
- Highly effective team, interpersonal, and mentoring skills, with strong personal management abilities to manage time and priorities effectively.

- Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups, and make presentations when required.
- Professional Experience:
- Previous experience on mid-size to major projects, through all phases, including execution.
- Technical and practical experience in Mechanical/Piping disciplines and package management.
- Education and Qualifications:
- Recognized engineering degree in the relevant discipline.
- Preferred Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status with extensive relevant experience.
(Australian Citizen, PR holder, or Valid Australia working VISA)
