World Environment Week

Airswift's annual global volunteer event centred around World Environment Day promoting and supporting our commitment to sustainability

Every year, our global offices come together to take action in their local community and raise awareness as part of Airswift's commitment to sustainability.

Re-branded from our former annual Airswift Earth Week, our World Environment Week aligns with the United Nations Environment Programme in support of World Environment Day.

Airswift's World Environment Week is driven by four main goals:

    • EDUCATE ourselves and our communities about local
environmental issues and how climate change will impact their region, the country, and the world.
    • PROMOTE values and behaviours that address environmental degradation and climate change in an inclusive and participatory setting.
    • EMPOWER ourselves and our communities with the skills necessary to take action to help fight climate change.
    • MAINTAIN new habits and remember that even the smallest actions can have a major impact.

Each World Environment Week, we at Airswift pledge a 'donation' of hours from our global working week towards volunteering and education.

These hours are accrued by taking part in global events such as our sustainability trivia competition or company-wide 'Power Hour', during which all members of the Airswift team are encouraged to switch off all unnecessary electronics for an hour of their workday.

Our teams also participate in regional events, including Meatless Monday cook-offs, sustainability seminars run by our passionate team members and community volunteer events.

Sustainability is an increasingly frequent theme in society and goes far beyond a concept. Airswift has always evolved with the energy industry. We aim to continue this evolution as sustainability becomes more important to the planet and the future of energy. We at Airswift are constantly striving to reduce our environmental impact.

Together we can restore the earth for future generations.

    EDUCATE. PROMOTE. EMPOWER. MAINTAIN.

World Environment Week 2023 - Beat Plastic Pollution

The 2023 UNEP mission is to #BeatPlasticPollution.

As part of the fight to #BeatPlasticPollution, our global teams came together from June 5-9, pledging 1,000 hours to improve their surrounding environments through volunteer work, education, and promotion of sustainable practices for future generations.

Over the course of the week, our primary initiatives included litter pick-ups, plastic-free photo challenge, world environment trivia and our Airswift Earth Hour.

We're proud to announce that our global teams dedicated 1,680 hours to World Environment Week - 168% of our original target! Throughout the course of the week, 37,746 litres of plastic was saved or recycled.
