One of our major oil and gas clients is seeking a Administrative Procurement Clerk to work on a 12-month assignment in their facilities in El Dorado, KS.



Summary:


The Requisition Technician plays a vital role in supporting procurement activities within the Turnaround department. This position is responsible for executing routine purchasing tasks in accordance with established guidelines and procedures. The Technician also provides administrative support to buyers and other stakeholders, including coordination with third-party material suppliers.



Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Purchase Requisition (PR) Technical Screener, acting as the liaison between vendors and internal requestors.

  • Process approved material orders and service contract procurement actions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standard procedures.

  • Conduct product research on vendor websites as requested by engineers and planners.

  • Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, SAP, and Coupa to create and maintain reports and spreadsheets tracking incoming materials.

  • Monitor delivery schedules and follow up on existing orders in coordination with warehouse personnel.

  • Communicate with suppliers regarding late deliveries and resolve related issues.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

  • Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of one year of experience in procurement, inventory management, or customer service, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, SAP, Coupa, and related software.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.

  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) prior to employment.

  • Ability to pass a drug screening test and refinery safety overview (RSO) training prior to employment.

  • Must meet eligibility requirements to work in the U.S. without employer-sponsored visa support.

Physical Demands

  • Regular use of hands and fingers; frequent standing, walking, and sitting.

  • Occasional climbing or balancing.

  • Frequent fine hand manipulation (e.g., keyboarding).

  • Visual requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

  • Flexibility in work schedule, including nights, swing shifts, and weekends as needed.

  • May require more than 40 hours per week during peak periods.

Work Environment

  • Primarily operates in a standard office setting.

  • Regular use of office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
