Airswift, on behalf of Keyera, is seeking a Buyer based in Drayton Valley, AB to work in Brazeau and Cynthia, on a 12-months contract with the possibility of extension. This is a Monday to Thursday 10/day shift schedule.

About the role

We’re looking for a hands?on, forward?thinking Buyer who thrives in fast?moving operational environments. In this role, you’ll take ownership of end?to?end procurement activities and bring structure, strategy, and strong commercial judgment to our supply chain processes. You’ll work closely with operations, engineering, and project teams to ensure materials, services, and contracts are delivered safely, on time, and at the best commercial value.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Lead full?cycle procurement for materials, equipment, and services across operations and capital projects.
  • Develop sourcing strategies that support cost, safety, and reliability objectives.
  • Manage competitive bidding, vendor selection, and negotiation processes with a strong commercial mindset.
  • Administer and support contracts, including service agreements, MSAs, and project?specific scopes.
  • Monitor supplier performance, address risks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to forecast needs, align sourcing plans, and resolve supply issues proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, industry regulations, and procurement best practices.
  • Contribute to process optimization and system enhancements within supply chain workflows.

Candidate profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • 3+ years of progressive procurement/supply chain experience in the Oil & Gas sector, ideally with exposure to field operations or midstream facilities.
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience as a Buyer (focus on transactional buying)
  • Proven strength in negotiation, contract management, and managing supplier relationships.
  • Solid understanding of industry markets, pricing trends, and regulatory considerations.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in ERP/procurement platforms.
  • Clear communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders and support decisions with data.
  • A proactive, solutions?oriented mindset and the ability to work independently in a fast?paced environment.
  • Candidate must be able to drive and own a car or truck. Employees must drive to and from site daily (or to and from bus pick up location). Commute distance and road conditions must be considered from a safety perspective.
  • Reliability and willingness to commute consistently are critical.
