About the Role

The role involves conducting routine and non?routine fluid sampling and analysis to support safe operations, meet regulatory obligations, and maintain the integrity of pipelines, assets, and wells. It includes managing verification, certification, and process allocation activities that ensure accurate costing and value assignment, requiring strong technical skills, process understanding, and a science?based qualification with relevant industry knowledge. The position also covers sampling and analysis across all major process and utility streams, including upstream systems, storage and loading areas, inlet processing, production trains, and injection facilities.

Position: Senior Laboratory Analyst
Location: Barrow Island – FIFO ex Perth

Roster: 2 weeks on; 2 weeks off. 11-hour days
Contract duration: June 2026 – May 2028

Pay rate: Negotiable

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and permitted sampling of all process fluids, supporting start

    up, commissioning, and adherence to SOPs.
  • Operate, maintain, calibrate, and validate portable and online analyzers, ensuring sample panel integrity and familiarity with all unit processes.
  • Safely and accurately analyse plant samples in compliance with ISO 17025 and maintain a clean, safe laboratory environment.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate laboratory instruments; manage lab stock, equipment, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Report analytical results in LIMS, keep procedures current, develop methods as needed, and support peer training.
  • Conduct gas and condensate cargo sampling, verify domestic gas stream analyses, and produce certified results for Bills of Lading.

Experience & qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Chemistry, Chemical/Process Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of LNG processes, hydrocarbons, and gas plant operations.
  • Understanding of ISO 17025 and lab quality systems.
  • Competent with LIMS and lab data reporting.
  • Familiar with systems like Ariba and JDE.
  • Safety training such as hazardous area, confined space, or permit
