COMMISSIONING LEAD (ELECTRICAL)

We are working with our client based in Qatar to source a COMMISSIONING LEAD (ELECTRICAL). This is residential contract to be based in Qatar.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in applied sciences or engineering
Experience:
- Eight (8) years of experience with large-project commissioning in the Oil & Gas industry, including one (1) year in a supervisory role, acting roles, or oversight of service/vendor personnel.
- Experience as an Electrical Commissioning Engineer (or equivalent) with broad knowledge of commissioning planning and execution for LNG or Oil & Gas facilities.
- Strong understanding and experience in System Completion Process and associated phases, including technical and contractual certificate walkdowns and PSSR procedures.
- Skilled in systemization, including check sheet development, allocation, completions database, and development of Pre-commissioning and Commissioning procedures and method statements.
- Hands-on experience in Pre-commissioning and Commissioning of High and Low Voltage systems (132kV to low voltage), transformers, switchboards, lighting, earthing, lightning protection, UPS, battery chargers, heating systems, and cathodic protection.
- Experience with compressors and associated control systems.
- Good understanding of International Electrical Standards and best practices in electrical installations and testing.
- Experience in substation Pre-commissioning and Commissioning.
- Exposure to both brownfield and greenfield projects, including shutdown activities and brownfield tie-ins (advantageous).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning activities for assigned areas.
- Ensure the EPC Contractor executes safe and efficient Pre-commissioning and Commissioning of complex Electrical and Control Systems.
- Oversee effective planning, set-up, testing, and troubleshooting of various components until final integration and dynamic testing/energization.
- Ensure systemization, pre-commissioning and commissioning planning, and database setup are properly developed.
- Maintain coordination with stakeholders throughout the process.
- Provide clear guidance to the EPC Contractor and facilitate resolution of Electrical and Control Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning issues to meet project objectives and milestones.
- Ensure all planning and execution activities related to Electrical Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning in assigned areas are achieved by the EPC Contractor, Subcontractors, Vendors, and Consultants, and executed as per contract, specifications, and QELNG requirements.
- Manage effective interfaces for Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning with existing operating facilities and other EPC projects.
- Major challenges for this role include:
- Guiding EPC Contractor teams (including Vendors and Subcontractors) to produce timely deliverables up to RFSU and startup.
- Maintaining constructive working relationships with EPC Contractor teams to ensure delivery and execution of Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning work scope in accordance with project specifications and requirements.
- Maintaining good relationships with Stakeholders (Operations, Quality, Engineering, Construction) to ensure alignment of systems completions execution.
- Ensuring safe and effective working in SIMOPS and Brownfield areas, adhering to project protocols.
