Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Compressor Operator to support daily gas compression and transmission activities at an Oil & Gas facility in Jal, New Mexico. This role is heavily focused on the operation, installation, and maintenance of booster units, along with hands-on mechanical work on compressor equipment.
The ideal candidate has strong field experience with compressor systems, a safety-focused mindset, and the ability to work independently in a rotating schedule environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate compressor engines, booster units, pumps, and supporting equipment
- Start, stop, and regulate systems by adjusting controls and valves
- Monitor gauges, meters, and recording devices to maintain proper pressure, temperature, and gas flow
- Perform daily operation of gas transmission equipment through pipeline systems
- Identify abnormal operating conditions and respond to equipment issues
- Conduct basic gas quality testing using approved chemical methods
- Perform routine mechanical adjustments and minor equipment repairs
- Support gas purification processes as required
- Install, operate, and maintain booster equipment as a primary job function
- Document operational data, inspections, and system changes in daily logs
Basic / Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical or vocational training in equipment operation, mechanical systems, or oil & gas production preferred
- Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on compressor operation experience
- Proven experience working with booster systems
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform minor repairs using hand tools
- Ability to work extended rotational schedules in field environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional mechanical or industrial maintenance experience
- Prior experience working in gas transmission or processing facilities
- Familiarity with compressor troubleshooting and preventive maintenance practices

- Strong understanding of compressor and booster operations
- Ability to interpret gauges, meters, and operational data
- Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of safe operating practices in Oil & Gas facilities

Work Schedule
- 10 days on / 4 days off rotational schedule
