We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source for Construction Lead (E&I) specialising in offshore compression. This is a long-term contract role working on a residential basis 6-days per week / 10 hours per day. Please see details below:
Title: Construction Lead (E&I)
Start Date: Negotiable (typically within 1 month notice)
Duration: 36 months (potential for extension)
Location: Onshore (site based), Sohar, Oman
Working Schedule: 6-days per week / 10 hours per day
Job Purpose:
- Lead and manage Compression EPC Contractor for safe and successful execution of CP Topsides electrical & IT works scopes to meet overall project objectives by insuring HSE, Quality, planning, effective and
efficient delivery of NFPS Compression Project.
- In addition ensure the constructability of the design is consistent with established Project Engineering Drawings and industry processes and standards, effectively manage issues and resolution through strong interfaces with both company and contractor teams delivering full alignment of the Fabrication execution.
Key Accountabilities:
- Reports to : Head of Construction
- Ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and regulations during fabrication process.
- Manages and ensures successful execution of electrical & IT items fabrication project components to meet prioritized objectives (Safety, Quality, Schedule, and others, as appropriate).
- To supervise and control the activities of the Contractor/Subcontractors related to the electrical & IT items fabrication, Mechanical Completion, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning to ensure that it complies with contractual requirements, project documentation and applicable International Standards.
- To check the constructability aspects, as well as the compliance to all technical requirements,
- of the deliverables provided by the Engineering Team Contractor.
- To review deviations to construction standards for comments with Contractors / Subcontractors input, to deliver a consistent dossier (documents, materials, procured and fabricated items, precom/com dossiers, as built …) for the construction activities.
- Identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and/or quality and recommend corrective actions as required.
- Review Contractor’s progress reports and reports for all the activities, highlighting critical problems, drifts and dysfunctions if any.
- To Liaise with Contractors/Subcontractors for all electrical & IT subject, MC, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning to ensure the Contractors/Subcontractors progress follow up and reporting.
- To Participate to Risk Assessments kick off meetings and Pre-Job Meetings, technical meeting etc. as required in accordance with Company's referential.
- To participate to REX and Lessons Learned for the Company.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Sciences or Engineering.
Knowledge and/or Experience
- 12 years experience with Large Projects in Construction related disciplines (e.g., construction, installation, fabrication, execution, completion, hook-up, etc.) in the Oil & Gas Industry, including 1 year of experience in a supervisory role, including acting roles, or oversight of service/vendor personnel. Additional relevant work experience may be substituted for technical education.
- Good knowledge of Project Execution procedures and field management and techniques including fabrication, E&IT testing and completions.
Technical and Business Skills
- Experience with Oil and Gas companies, contractors, service companies, or heavy construction companies.
- Knowledge of design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria related to major fabrication, transport, installation, brownfield execution, and hook-up, as applicable to the project scope.
- Knowledge of offshore facilities and structures, onshore facilities, or yard operations as applicable to a project scope.
- Knowledge of execution methods and risks associated with sour gas and LNG production facilities.
- Experience working in large scale operating organizations in Operations, Projects, Subsurface, etc.
