Job Title: Construction Lead (Structural)
Job Purpose
- Oversee the planning, preparation, and execution of all aspects of structural fabrication requirements from yard activities to load-out, ensuring all key objectives are achieved or exceeded.
- Ensure constructability of the design is consistent with established engineering drawings and industry standards, managing issues and resolutions through strong interfaces with both company and contractor teams.
Key Job Accountabilities
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols during fabrication.
- Manage successful execution of structural fabrication components to meet objectives (Safety, Quality, Schedule).
- Supervise and control contractor/subcontractor activities related to fabrication and mechanical completion.
- Check constructability and compliance of engineering deliverables.
- Review deviations to construction standards and ensure consistent documentation.
- Identify progress or quality concerns and recommend corrective actions.
- Review contractor progress reports and highlight critical issues.
- Liaise with contractors for fabrication, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Participate in risk assessments, kick-off meetings, and technical meetings.
- Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Sciences or Engineering.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years in large construction projects within Oil & Gas, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or oversight role.
- Good knowledge of project execution procedures, fabrication, welding, lifting, mechanical testing, and completions.
Technical Skills
- Familiarity with design standards, codes, and safety criteria for fabrication and installation.
- Knowledge of offshore/onshore facilities and yard operations.
- Understanding of execution methods and risks associated with sour gas and LNG facilities.
- Experience in large-scale operating organizations.
