Job Title: Construction Supervisor (Civil)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in civil construction, infrastructure, and complex structural projects, particularly mega projects involving high-rise towers.
- Solid understanding of Oil & Gas industry requirements for executing major onshore projects.
- Familiarity with local, national, and international codes, standards, and specifications.
- Proficient in reviewing engineering drawings, detailed designs, shop drawings, and civil/structural calculations.
- Experience in marine environment construction for high-rise towers.
- Strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Self-motivated with a proven ability to drive project accomplishments.
- Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
- Knowledge of engineering standards, quality control, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Strong supervisory, planning, and coordination capabilities.
- Effective report writing and communication skills.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Monitor all civil-related activities on-site, ensuring compliance with:
- Approved Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
- Risk Assessments
- Method Statements
- Permit to Work System
- Latest project instructions
- Identify and implement risk reduction measures across all construction phases.
- Review and verify Method Statements, JHA, Safety Certifications, and related documentation from consultants/contractors.
- Address delays or lapses in progress, report to supervisors, and propose corrective actions.
- Coordinate and manage civil, structural, and infrastructure works, ensuring integration with other disciplines.
- Supervise contractors to meet project safety goals, recommending solutions and changes as needed.
Attend regular meetings with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to:
- Review progress
- Analyze critical issues
- Propose timely solutions
- Conduct field inspections, surveys, and provide technical advice for administrative close-out.
- Ensure compliance with QatarEnergy safety regulations, project safety plans, and State of Qatar environmental laws.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and contractors, maintaining flexibility in assignments.
- Lead or support accident and incident investigations.
- Provide technical guidance to contractors.
- Resolve multi-disciplinary issues as the construction focal point.
Liaise with internal departments and contractors to:
- Discuss project details
- Solve problems
- Coordinate work activities
- Update and verify daily/weekly progress reports and contractor progress statements.
- Coordinate with relevant parties to resolve site issues and escalate technical queries to senior supervisors.
