Qualification
- Higher National Certificate (HNC) / Higher National Diploma (HND) / Diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical, and/or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Extensive commissioning experience in oil & gas projects.
- Strong skills in construction management, communication, and conflict resolution.
Experience
- 8–10 years of experience in construction and installation activities within the oil & gas industry.
- Knowledge and experience in implementing construction industry best practices, systems, processes, and standards.
- Basic understanding of telemetry installation and commissioning.
- Familiarity with construction techniques for brownfield environments and offshore structures.
- Experience across Electrical, Telecom, Telemetry and related disciplines within offshore oil & gas projects.
- Computer literate with good communication and reporting skills.
- Strong understanding of engineering standards, quality control, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Proficient in reviewing method statements, inspection and test plans, construction schedules, and drawings.
- Ability to identify potential bottlenecks and recommend solutions.
- Skilled in supervising multi-national and multi-cultural contractor teams.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as the company representative onboard offshore facilities or contractor marine spread for all assigned project activities.
- Coordinate and liaise with facility asset holders regarding site access and preparation requirements for construction and hot work activities.
- Supervise contractors during Electrical, Instrumentation, Fire & Gas, DCS, ESD, and Telecom construction activities at offshore work sites.
- Participate in the review of design drawings, method statements, and material receipt inspections.
- Monitor and verify Electrical, Instrumentation, and Telecom material receipt inspections in accordance with drawings, standards, and specifications; raise reports for damaged or missing materials.
- Prepare work permits as the Permit Applicant and ensure adherence to all relevant permit-to-work system requirements.
- Attend daily planning and progress meetings with asset holders and provide updates on work progress and constraints.
- Coordinate with contractor representatives for offshore logistics, including personnel and material movement according to schedule.
- Review contractor construction plans, schedules, method statements, and job hazard analyses.
- Liaise with contractor and HSEQ personnel to ensure compliance with approved procedures during construction and installation activities.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to approved procedures and drawings.
- Verify completion of construction work according to approved standards and contract specifications.
- Supervise and approve contractor activities such as cable pulling, termination, glanding, loop checking, megger testing, cabinet installation, field instrument installation, and testing at designated work locations.
- Perform and witness inspections based on approved inspection and test plans (ITPs), and sign off relevant records and quality forms.
- Conduct punch list walkdowns, raise findings, and coordinate closure with relevant parties.
- Review and approve Mechanical Completion Certificates (MCC).
- Maintain daily progress records and report any anomalies or contractual deviations with recommendations for corrective actions.
- Review and submit daily and weekly construction progress reports for assigned projects.
