Construction Supervisor (Structural)
Qualification
- Higher National Certificate (HNC), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Strong background in construction management, communication, and conflict resolution.
- Extensive experience in commissioning within the oil & gas sector.
Experience
- 8–10 years of experience in construction and installation activities within the oil & gas industry.
- Proven experience in applying construction industry best practices, systems, processes, and standards.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise site construction and installation activities related to assigned engineering disciplines, ensuring all work is performed safely, within scope, and according to approved standards and specifications.
- Participate in constructability reviews when required.
- Review contractors’ construction plans, schedules, method statements, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
- Coordinate and oversee contractor mobilization, including site access and laydown areas.
- Facilitate issuance of permits and gate passes as needed.
- Inspect, check, and test completed work; coordinate recommissioning inspections and initiate Mechanical Completion Certificates.
- Track and ensure closure of all Punch List items.
- Review and endorse red-lined drawings and final “as-built” documentation.
- Participate in handover, acceptance processes, and commissioning activities.
- Review and approve Construction Dossiers for assigned projects.
- Ensure timely execution of construction and installation scopes in alignment with the approved scope, specifications, and standards.
- Ensure timely Permit-to-Work (PTW) issuance, supervise contractor teams, and enforce PTW conditions.
- Review and endorse contractors’ progress reports and site activity updates.
