Contract Engineer to work with an EPC Company based in Nanterre

Location: Nanterre, France
Duration: 6-month renewable CONTRACT
Starting
: April/May
The Contract Engineer is fully assigned to the Marsa LNG EPC Project (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Project of a LNG plant for Sultanate of Oman), multi-hundread millions USD project), and will be mobilized at Home Office (Paris – France).

Role Purpose
The Contract Engineer will support the Contract Manager in the post?award management and administration of the EPC prime contract, ensuring contractual compliance throughout project execution and protecting the company’s contractual rights and obligations in line with policies, standards, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management – Client (Selling Services)
Support the Contract Manager in the day?to?day administration of the prime EPC contract with the Client
Monitor contractual compliance by:
(EPC Contractor)
The Client
The supply chain
Track and manage:
Contractual entitlements
Notifications
Change orders
Extensions of time (EOT)
Claims and variations
Draft, review, and coordinate incoming and outgoing contractual correspondence with Clients and Partners
Perform contract analyses on specific topics as requested by management
Change Management & Claims
Initiate and coordinate the preparation, negotiation, and settlement of:
Change orders
Variations
Claims and commercial adjustments
Ensure proper documentation and contractual justification in accordance with the contract and project procedures
Procurement & Subcontracting Support (Optional)
Provide contractual support to procurement and subcontracting teams when required, including:
Flow?down and back?to?back provisions
Negotiation of specific contractual terms and conditions
Management of variation orders, claims, and back?charges
Support both:
Purchasing services (towards suppliers/subcontractors)
Selling services (towards the Client)
Interface & Coordination
Liaise with internal departments such as:
Legal (corporate, compliance, IP, insurance, litigation)
Treasury
Tax
Insurance
Coordinate with the wider Project Management Team to ensure contractual alignment with project execution
Reporting Lines
Functional reporting: Head of Contract Management Department
Operational reporting: Project Contract Manager
Future Assignment (Optional)
Depending on performance and project needs, a future assignment to the construction site in Sohar, Oman, may be considered. This requires prior site and long?term EPC contract management experience.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education
Degree in Engineering, Law, Business, or equivalent
Experience & Technical Skills
Proven experience in Oil & Gas / LNG EPC projects
Strong background in contract management from the EPC Contractor perspective
Solid experience in post?award prime contract management
Good understanding of:
Compliance
Intellectual Property
Insurance matters
Full working knowledge of English law / Common Law
Experience interacting with clients and international stakeholders
Tools
Standard office tools (Microsoft Office)
Language Requirements
English: Fluent (written and spoken) – contract language
French: Strong advantage
