Job Title: Contracts Lead
Job Purpose
The Contracts Lead is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of EPCI, FEED, and Long Lead Item (LLI) contracts for Offshore projects. This includes developing contract strategies, preparing Invitations to Tender (ITTs), evaluating bids, awarding contracts, and overseeing all post-award activities such as change orders, claims, insurance, and guarantees administration. The role ensures effective contract management from award through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop contracting scenarios and lead Contracting Strategy workshops.
- Prepare FEED/EPCI/LLI contracts in collaboration with Legal and Supply Chain teams.
- Advise on technical bid evaluation plans, procedures, and models.
- Ensure contractors comply with contractual terms and regulations.
- Manage post-award activities including formal correspondence, change orders, claims, and insurance administration.
- Support negotiations on major change orders and claims with EPC contractors and LLI suppliers.
- Resolve contractor claims and coordinate legal issues with relevant departments.
- Oversee transfer of LLI contracts through novation or free issue to EPIC contractors.
- Address breaches of contract promptly and effectively.
- Review and recommend improvements to existing contract agreements for future projects.
Job Context & Challenges
- Lead contract administration for multi-billion-dollar offshore EPCI contracts covering Jackets, Topsides, and Pipelines.
- Provide strategic advice on contract processes, change management, and claims resolution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Quantity Surveying, Commercial, Marketing, Sciences, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Law, Communication, Technologies, Mathematics, or Statistics.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years in contract management for EPC projects, including at least 4 years in Oil & Gas and 1 year in a supervisory or oversight role.
- Proven experience in contract formulation, systems, and processes across diverse contracts.
- Familiarity with international standards, best practices, and methodologies in contract management.
- Strong knowledge of project-related disciplines such as planning, cost control, risk management, procurement, and claims.
- Proficiency in SAP and data analytics tools.
