Job Summary
Airswift is seeking a Data Analyst III to support one of our major clients in the Energy sector. This role is ideal for candidates with strong experience in Power BI, Excel, data modeling, and invoice/cost verification for large, complex projects.
The Senior Data Analyst will work closely with Project Controllers and Finance teams to consolidate data from multiple systems, analyze high-volume reimbursable invoices, validate contract compliance, and deliver actionable insights through dashboards, reports, and structured data models. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who is comfortable working with heavy datasets, complex workbooks, and financial controls in a fast-paced project environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain databases, Excel workbooks, and structured datasets to support validation of large volumes of reimbursable contractor invoices.
- Collect, consolidate, and format data from multiple sources for use in Power BI and other analytical tools.
- Build, maintain, and optimize Power BI dashboards, ensuring scalability and efficient integration of new data.
- Analyze contractor invoices to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contract terms.
- Create periodic management reports, charts, and KPI dashboards related to cost, variances, and audit findings.
- Represent the company in discussions with contractors, JV/CoV representatives, and internal/external auditors.
- Support Project Controllers in cost analysis, invoice verification, and financial compliance reviews.
- Develop reference tables, cost-driver analyses, and tools to enhance visibility into contractor performance and project costs.
- Identify discrepancies, trends, or anomalies in data and recommend process improvements.
Basic / Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in data analytics, finance, project accounting, cost analysis, or similar roles.
- Proficiency with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, Power Query) and Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, large data handling).
- Experience working with high-volume invoices, billing data, or contractor cost reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data validation skills.
- Ability to manage large datasets from multiple sources with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP (FI/CO, PS modules) or similar enterprise systems.
- Previous work in Oil & Gas, EPC projects, or large capital project environments.
- Experience interacting with auditors, project controllers, or contractor management teams.
- Background in financial controls, cost accounting, or contract compliance.
- Power BI certification or advanced analytics coursework.
