About the Role
We’re hiring a Data Governance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you’ll lead the development and implementation of data governance frameworks that strengthen data quality, compliance, and security across the organization. You’ll work closely with business and technical stakeholders to establish best practices, enhance data integrity, and drive a culture of responsible data stewardship.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Design and execute data quality management processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and consistency across master, reference, and operational data.
- Collaborate with data stewards, data owners, and business stakeholders to align with governance standards and resolve data quality issues.
- Monitor data quality metrics, define KPIs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct regular data audits to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide guidance and support to data users on governance practices and proper data handling.
- Maintain data governance documentation, including data dictionaries, glossaries, and metadata repositories.
- Manage data governance tools and platforms to support enterprise data governance activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve data management processes and recommend effective solutions.
- Coordinate with IT and data management teams to embed governance requirements in system development and maintenance.
- Facilitate training and awareness programs to promote data governance across the organization.
- Report on data governance and data quality performance to senior management.
- Lead data governance working groups and committees to drive strategic initiatives.
- Support the development and execution of data governance strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Foster a culture of data stewardship and strong data management practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in data governance, data quality, or a related discipline, including at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven experience designing and implementing data quality strategies and governance frameworks.
- Strong technical background with hands?on experience managing complex data infrastructures, including cloud environments and data integration.
- Demonstrated ability to enforce data governance standards and ensure compliance with industry requirements.
- Experience with data governance platforms such as Collibra, Informatica, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non?technical audiences.
- Proven track record of leading cross?functional teams and working with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Preferred certifications: ITIL, PMP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- Attributes including teamwork, problem?solving, creative thinking, and proactive leadership.
