We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Operations Director to lead the launch and operational ramp-up of a new Aerospace MRO facility in Saudi Arabia. This role is critical to establishing world-class maintenance capabilities, building high-performing teams, and ensuring regulatory compliance from day one. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in MRO operations and greenfield site development, with a strong understanding of regional aviation dynamics.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, setup, and commissioning of the new MRO facility, including infrastructure, tooling, systems, and staffing.
  • Collaborate with engineering, construction, and project management teams to ensure timely and compliant site delivery.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and workflows from scratch.
  • Recruit, train, and onboard key operational staff and technicians.
  • Establish relationships with regulatory bodies (GACA, EASA, FAA) to secure necessary certifications and approvals.
  • Oversee procurement and installation of MRO systems
  • Manage day-to-day operations across maintenance, logistics, quality, and safety.
  • Drive operational excellence through lean practices, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all aviation safety and maintenance regulations.
  • Build strong client relationships and support business development efforts.
  • Monitor financial performance and optimize resource utilization.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in aerospace MRO operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in greenfield or brownfield site start-up projects.
  • Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and certification processes (GACA, EASA, FAA).
  • Experience with ERP/MRO systems and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
  • Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement certification.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.
