We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source for Diving Lead specialising in offshore compression. This is a long-term contract role working offshore with rotation cycle of 28 days ON / 28 days OFF. Please see details below:
Title: Diving Lead
Start Date: Negotiable (typically within 1 month notice)
Duration: 36 months (potential for extension)

Job Purpose:
Serve as primary interface with Installation Contractor/Diving Sub-Contractor on matters related to saturation diving, air diving and Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) safety and scope of work.
Manage and monitor the diving contractor, to ensure diving operations are conducted safely and appropriately in compliance with contractual agreement and industry standards.
Key Accountabilities:
Head of Diving & ROV (MP & NFPS).
Monitors contractor diving & ROV performance including review of Contractors diving & ROV personnel certifications and qualifications, ensuring specifications/approved procedures are followed
Assists Project Management with planning, procedure review and technical support of matters involving diving and ROV.
Conducts diving plant, ROV and equipment verification audits ensuring all relevant certification and audits are in date, and that any closeout actions from audits have been carried out.
Acts as the focal point between the operator and the contractor particularly for diving and ROV SIMOPS and diving PTW.
Participates in the development of all diving SIMOPs documents to ensure that all parties have a clear understanding of diving activities (SAT/Air/ROV) and their impact on adjacent work activities.
Monitors the contractor to ensure compliance with diving legislation (SAT/Air/ROV), IOGP Diving recommended practice and industry best practices, such as IMCA.
Endorses Consent to Proceed with Air, Sat & ROV Diving request/approval issued by CTR on installation vessel/DSV
Monitors all diving activities such as supervisor/diver communications, diver video monitoring, ROV/Diver SIMOPS, diver/crane operations, bell deployment/recovery, diving suitability to environmental conditions and vessel movement.
Responsible for the emergency response and incident reporting for DCIs and treatment protocols.
Qualifications:
Saturation diver qualification.
Saturation or Air Diving Supervisor certification.
In date IMCA CPD (Continuing Professional Development), if an IMCA ADAS or DCBC qualified supervisor.
Attended a Diving Worksite Representative training based on IOGP guidelines.
Auditing & Assurance DESIGN (Diving Equipment Systems Inspection Guidance Note) for diving and ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) systems (Saturation/Air/ROV).
Formal Dynamic Positioning familiarisation training aligned to IMCA M117.
Formal HSE training with an accredited institution (NEBOSH/IOSH).
Knowledge and/or Experience:
10 years experience with offshore commercial diving and supervision (Saturation & Air Diving).
Experience performing Diving System Assurance Audits to the IMCA D 023/024/053/063 guideline standards.
Sound knowledge of international diving standards and regulations:
IMCA - International Marine Contractors Association
IOGP – International Oil & Gas producers
ADCI - Association of Diving Contractors International
5 years experience in diving operations from a dynamic position (DP) vessel.
Sound knowledge in seamanship, marine/vessel and ROV operations.
5 years experience in sub-sea installation, repair and decommissioning
2 years experience in offshore construction management.
Technical and Business Skills:
- Knowledge of oil and gas industry bodies, national and international diving regulations.
- Strong operational marine knowledge.
- Knowledgeable in International Maritime Regulations, Codes and Standards.
- Broad and extensive knowledge of critical marine operations including offshore installation, construction vessels and barges, heavy lifts, transportation, pipe and cable lay, jack-up accommodation
barges, and dive support vessels.
- Past experience with LNG Projects and Standards is an added value and or alternatively with Oil & Gas Industry Major Operators and/or Contractors
