Job Title: Drafter I
Location: Artesia, NM
Work Schedule: On-site | 9/80 schedule
Assignment duration: 11 Month Assignment with possibility of extension
No Per Diem or Relocation offered on Assignment
Basic Function
Conduct routine design assignments for the Engineering Department under limited supervision.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in developing CAD standards
- Maintain drawings and drawing systems
- Apply knowledge of industry standards
- Perform design and drafting assignments related to refineries
- Monitor outside contractor drawing compliance
- Complete special assignments as directed by supervisor
Experience
0–3 years of job-related experience required.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills
- Good judgment and decision-making skills
- Intermediate knowledge of pipeline systems
- Knowledge of electrical practices, instrumentation, and loop diagrams
- Working knowledge of PLC and HMI programming
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic math skills
Preferred Skills
Special training in Drafting & Design.
Supervisory Responsibilities
May interface with contractors as needed.
Work Conditions
Office and field-based in a petroleum refinery environment. Exposure to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, confined spaces.
Physical Requirements
- Standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling
- Visual inspections, precise hand movements
- Lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs
- Climb up to 200 ft
- Operate company vehicles (valid driver’s license required)
- Ability to wear PPE (beards not permitted)
