Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead and perform corrective actions on high voltage electrical equipment, including breakers, fuses, transformers, and protection systems.
  • Identify and remediate panel, termination, and installation deficiencies, including lugging, conductor sizing, torque verification, labeling, and code compliance.
  • Support electrical reliability upgrades driven by audits, incident findings, or integrity programs.
  • Execute and oversee electrical preventative maintenance (PM) activities on high and low voltage systems, including breaker exercising, infrared inspections, torquing, insulation testing, and visual inspections.
  • Lead an extensive grounding and bonding campaign, including field inspections, testing, documentation, and remediation of grounding deficiencies.
  • Verify grounding system integrity at panels, equipment skids, structures, and facilities in accordance with site standards and industry best practices.
  • Support instrumentation power and signal circuits and control wiring associated with transmitters, analyzers, and control panels.
  • Coordinate isolations, testing, and re-energization with operations, I&E engineers, and facilities engineering.
  • Interpret and work from electrical one lines, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and hazardous area classifications.
  • Lead detailed field walkdowns to identify electrical deficiencies, validate scope, and define corrective action work packages.
  • Document findings clearly and support scope definition suitable for execution, estimating, and prioritization.
  • Develop field-level cost estimates for corrective action and PM work, including labor, materials, equipment, and contractor support.
  • Support schedule development by identifying logical work sequencing, outage requirements, and execution constraints.
  • Plan and manage daily and weekly crew loading, aligning resources to highest risk or highest value work first.
  • Adjust priorities in response to operational needs, access constraints, or emergent electrical findings.
  • Provide daily direction and oversight to assigned electricians, I&E technicians, and contract resources.
  • Track daily costs, labor hours, and progress against approved scope and estimates.
  • Identify and communicate cost or schedule risks early; implement corrective actions to maintain control.
  • Manage work to minimize cycle time, rework, and unnecessary mobilization while maintaining safety and quality.
  • Support scope management, ensuring work performed aligns with approved corrective action plans.
  • Assist with field-driven change identification, justification, and documentation as required.
  • Drive execution efficiency by bundling work, reducing repeat visits, and improving workface planning.
  • Enforce electrical safe work practices, LOTO, energized work controls, ground disturbance, and facility safety requirements.
  • Work safely in Class I Division 2 hazardous locations.
  • Lead JSAs, pre-task planning, and field execution meetings.
