Job Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and versatile Sales Engineer to join our team in East Malaysia. This role involves managing customer relationships, driving sales initiatives, and providing technical support throughout the sales cycle. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing marketing strategies, handling enquiries, and ensuring customer satisfaction through solution-based selling.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Handle customer enquiries, coverage, sales pursuit, and follow-ups.
  2. Formulate and implement marketing strategies to meet defined goals.
  3. Develop customer networks and manage accounts across selected industries and territories.
  4. Achieve annual sales targets for both internal and principal stakeholders.
  5. Perform application engineering and generate quotations.
  6. Review contract terms and conditions during quotation and order stages.
  7. Coordinate with customer service for job execution.
  8. Update product managers on potential new/revamp projects and daily sales opportunities.
  9. Liaise with principals for technical assistance and monitor order placement and delivery timelines.
  10. Assist in team training and knowledge sharing to build competency.
  11. Identify business potential and report on sales funnel activities.
  12. Proactively promote products and services.
  13. Expand and strengthen customer base.
  14. Enhance customer satisfaction through solution selling.
  15. Prepare accurate, technically verified, competitively priced proposals that highlight business benefits.
  16. Collaborate with regional offices to implement sales strategies.
  17. Process order entry documents post-purchase order award.
  18. Adopt best practices in HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) and Quality, with continuous improvement.
  19. Support other assigned activities as needed


Key Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Electronic Engineering or Science.
  • 2–3 years of experience in a related role within the Automation or Oil & Gas industry.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin (local dialect).
  • Strong computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of flow measurement and control systems.

Competencies:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Presentable and able to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Flexible and mobile, willing to travel and be stationed at site as required.
