About the Role
We’re seeking a highly motivated and adaptable individual who thrives in dynamic environments. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is comfortable working with data, comfortable working in remote field settings, navigating ambiguity, and proactively developing solutions.
Position: Environmental GIS Specialist
Location: Perth
Indicative Term of Contract: 12 months
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and execution of field trips
- Field data collection, including plant identification and vegetation measurements
- Data processing and data management
- Sourcing information from conventional and unconventional sources
- Interpretation and use of GIS data
Key Skills & Attributes
- Strong data handling and management capabilities
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management and ability to juggle multiple tasks
- Experience in field data collection (ecological or agricultural methodologies preferred)
- Proficiency in GIS mapping, preferably using QGIS
- High-level IT proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to interrogate and interpret data
Important Requirements
- Drone accreditation
- 4WD capability
- Comfortable working in remote settings (Regional WA) - Travel duration: 1 week to 1 month

- Microsoft Office (minimum)
- GIS skills (training available, but preferred)

Background in Environmental Science - All industry backgrounds are acceptable

- Preference for local Perth candidates
- 5/2 (8-hour shifts)
