Join a leading organization in the oil and gas industry as an Environmental / Regulatory Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and supporting safety initiatives.
Role Overview
- Coordinate Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) monitoring activities with Site Construction Managers and/or Supervisors.
- Assess and record compliance with project and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contractor SSHE plans and programs.
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled work site inspections/assessments as required by the Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
- Ensure proper identification, recording, reporting, and rectification of SSHE compliance initiatives.
- Interface with regulatory agency field inspectors.
- Oversee sampling and analysis activities related to environmental field samples.
- Provide initial in-the-field problem recognition/troubleshooting.
- Receive and review SSHE performance/EMP implementation monitoring data.
- Assist in the coordination and oversight of spill and emergency response activities.
- Monitor general worker behavior related to the project’s key SSHE policies.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in SSHE and/or regulatory compliance within the oil and gas sector.
- Understanding of industry project construction principles and techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Self-confidence to instruct contractors on regulatory compliance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; advanced user of Adobe.
Education & Experience
- Degree in Environmental or Natural Sciences, Natural Resource Management, or related discipline preferred.
- Technical field experience related to SSHE management is advantageous.
- OGI (Optical Gas Imaging) certification is required.
- Hands on experience with LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) cameras is highly preferred.
