Join a leading organization in the oil and gas industry as an Environmental / Regulatory Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and supporting safety initiatives.

Role Overview

  • Coordinate Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) monitoring activities with Site Construction Managers and/or Supervisors.
  • Assess and record compliance with project and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contractor SSHE plans and programs.
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled work site inspections/assessments as required by the Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
  • Ensure proper identification, recording, reporting, and rectification of SSHE compliance initiatives.
  • Interface with regulatory agency field inspectors.
  • Oversee sampling and analysis activities related to environmental field samples.
  • Provide initial in-the-field problem recognition/troubleshooting.
  • Receive and review SSHE performance/EMP implementation monitoring data.
  • Assist in the coordination and oversight of spill and emergency response activities.
  • Monitor general worker behavior related to the project’s key SSHE policies.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in SSHE and/or regulatory compliance within the oil and gas sector.
  • Understanding of industry project construction principles and techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Self-confidence to instruct contractors on regulatory compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; advanced user of Adobe.

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Environmental or Natural Sciences, Natural Resource Management, or related discipline preferred.
  • Technical field experience related to SSHE management is advantageous.
  • OGI (Optical Gas Imaging) certification is required.
  • Hands on experience with LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) cameras is highly preferred.
