Position Summary
This role oversees JV governance, financial management, lender communication, and full-spectrum accounting and tax operations for the local subsidiary. The successful candidate will function as a key finance leader bridging HQ, the joint venture, and the Philippines operations.
Department Overview
Global Business Development Division / Finance & Planning Division
- Responsible for driving renewable energy project development in the Philippines
- Manages JV governance, corporate and financial management of subsidiaries
Key Responsibilities
Role 1: JV Governance & Financial Management Lead
1. Officer Duties (Treasurer/Assistant Treasurer)
- Exercise approval rights per Shareholder Agreement (SHA)
- Approve fund disbursements, financial statements, tax filings
- Collaborate with partner officers on governance decisions
2. Governance Framework & Internal Controls
- Establish authority regulations and governance structure
- Ensure compliance with corporate legal procedures
- Oversee accounting/tax execution and ensure proper internal controls
3. Cash Call & Funding
- Lead cash-call notices and sponsor loan management
- Align with project funding plans and budget
4. JV Budget Management
- Lead annual business plan and budget creation (EPC, O&M, financing)
- Conduct board-level approval processes
5. Lender Relations
- Manage senior debt reporting and covenant compliance
- Coordinate with lenders during construction and operation phases
Role 2: Financial, Accounting & Budget Management
1. Accounting & Tax Oversight
- Responsible for monthly/annual closing, audit, and tax filings
- Ensure compliance with Philippine accounting standards (PFRS)
- Report accounting/tax matters to HQ
- Manage cash operations
2. Budget Management
- Consolidate budgets for all PH projects
- Lead budget formulation, variance analysis, monthly reporting
- Prepare management reports for HQ
Required Qualifications (Must-have)
- CPA or equivalent professional finance/accounting qualification
- 10+ years in finance, accounting, tax, internal controls
- 5+ years in managerial roles
- Experience in project finance, fundraising, or financial management for infrastructure/energy/large-scale projects
- Deep knowledge of PFRS and Philippine tax regulations
- Ability to lead accounting, tax, and budgets for local subsidiaries/SPCs
- Strong understanding of IFRS and international taxation
- Business-level English proficiency (spoken & written)
- Renewable energy or power sector experience in the Philippines
- Experience in JV governance and financial/contract management
- Ability to interpret contracts (e.g., SHA) and apply them to financial operations
