Join a leading energy company in Papua New Guinea as an Accountant Intern, where you'll play a crucial role in the financial operations of major gas field developments.
Role Overview
- General Accounting: Manage accounting across various companies, including cash calls and billing for joint ventures.
- Monthly Reconciliation: Conduct monthly general ledger reconciliations and propose necessary journal entries.
- Bank Reconciliation: Review and prepare weekly and monthly bank reconciliations for all group companies.
- Journal Management: Ensure timely preparation and posting of general journals in SAP.
- Fiscal Compliance: Facilitate monthly and annual fiscal compliance and reporting.
- Asset and Liability Review: Reconcile and review asset and liability movements monthly.
- Audit Assistance: Support the Chief Accountant during statutory and group audits.
- Vendor Management: Assist in vendor creation and modification processes.
- Tax Filings: Prepare and lodge tax forms and filings monthly.
Skills & Qualifications
- Banking Knowledge: Understanding of banking processes and reconciliation.
- Accounting Interfaces: Familiarity with accounting software and interfaces, particularly SAP.
- Corporate Finance Acumen: Knowledge of corporate finance principles.
- Financial Analysis Skills: Ability to analyze financial data effectively.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in analytical thinking and problem-solving.
- Excel Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
Education & Experience
- Degree in Accounting or equivalent required.
- Knowledge of Oil & Gas business environment is advantageous.
