Job Description
Responsible for delivering high?quality Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analysis, data management, and operational support across the organisation. This role ensures the development, maintenance, and optimisation of GIS solutions, spatial datasets, mapping products, and field data collection processes. The position works closely with stakeholders to enable effective decision?making, improve data integrity, and promote best?practice GIS standards and tools.
Key Responsibilities
GIS Analysis & Data Management
- Develop and support high?quality GIS products, mapping outputs, and spatial data solutions.
- Acquire, verify, store, and maintain GIS spatial datasets and associated metadata.
- Support mobile and field data workflows using ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123, including configuration, validation, and integration.
- Convert and prepare data for enterprise GIS platforms with thorough quality assurance.
- Identify opportunities to automate GIS workflows for efficiency improvements.
- Provide mapping support, including the handling of complex map requests.
- Assist users in optimising their GIS project files and configurations.
Customer Support & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, information owners, and customers.
- Provide tools, processes, and training to enable effective use of GIS capabilities.
- Deliver user documentation, training, and awareness of GIS functions.
- Work collaboratively to identify and implement new GIS technologies.
- Participate in GIS Communities of Practice and promote best practices across Business Units.
Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Follow established change, service, and incident management processes.
- Ensure all incidents are logged in IT Reliability systems, complete RCA activities, and close actions promptly.
- Maintain accurate and up?to?date system and process documentation.
Teamwork & Collaboration
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and team activities.
- Build effective working relationships with project teams, peers, information owners, and vendors.
- Demonstrate flexibility, initiative, and willingness to take on new responsibilities.
Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with GIS technologies, including the ESRI ArcGIS suite.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, Survey123, and Field Maps.
- Experience with FME or similar data transformation tools.
- Demonstrated ability in managing spatial data, metadata, and QA/QC processes.
- Experience supporting GIS field data collection and mobile mapping workflows.
- Ability to troubleshoot and support end users, including training and documentation.
- Strong understanding of GIS standards, best practices, and data governance.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
