Head of Lost Prevention Engineering

Airswift is seeking for Head of Lost Prevention Engineering to work with our client based in Qatar.
Job Purpose
Responsible for overseeing and leading Loss Prevention activities in project (namely LNG storage and handling – LPG and Condensate Storage and Handling and Sulphur granulation and Handling).
Ensures all safety and loss prevention requirements such as project philosophies, specifications, codes, practices are in full compliance with project and company requirements and are delivered to the highest technical quality standards.
Provides clear guidance to the EPC contractor and facilitate resolution of technical issues to complete loss prevention activities to meet project milestones.
Leads the development of the Design Safety case and associated safety risk assessments aligned with company operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering
10 years’ experience in Engineering roles, including 6 years in the Oil & Gas Industry, and including 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or acting role, or oversight of contractor/sub-contractors/service/vendor personnel.
Extensive experience with Oil & Gas Companies, EPC contractors, sub-contractors, vendors, or service companies involved in the oil and gas industry.
Broad experience and demonstrated competence in managing across all phases of project execution including start up and handover and managing technical issues.
Strong experience with risk assessment approach in decision making.
Broad experience working in large scale integrated operating organizations in Operations, Projects, Subsurface, etc.
Experience of working in integrated organizations.
Proven experience in technology adoption and implementation of continuous improvement
Broad experience to conduct Safety and I&C Session (i.e.. Hazid, HAZOP, SIL, SAFOP)
Experience in Fire Water network and in general in Passive and Active fire protection.
Fluent in written and oral English.
Strong analytical, organizational, coordination and planning skills.
Good communication skills and ability to interact / interface at all levels.
Good mediation skills including conflict resolution, problem-solving, creative thinking, influencing and empathy.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, etc.
Deep knowledge of industry codes, standards and practices

Responsibilities

Perform as a safety leader through exhibiting the highest safety standards of behavior to the workforce. Actively participate in Toolbox Talks, Task Instructions and site safety walkthroughs.
Ensure loss prevention activities are conducted in accordance with local regulatory requirements, codes and standards, project specifications and industry practices.
Ensure that Contractors/subcontractors are conducting engineering design in accordance with safety requirements, specifications, and local laws.
Lead / drive EPC contractor to timely conduct and deliver safety studies such as QRA, HAZIDs, HAZOPs, PHA, Safety Case, SHE studies etc. per execution plan.
Ensure approved Loss Prevention recommendations and programs are utilized by the Project to improve safety in design and in construction and maintain high safety and risks standards.
Steward Contractors’ safety and risk execution activities in accordance to plans, verify adequacy of contractor resources and personnel competency for the tasks, employment of appropriate tools including use of approved software.
Ensure the timely completion of loss prevention engineering requirements in design, procurement, construction, commissioning, system completions and startup.
Tracking and reporting of lessons learned in defined area of responsibility.
Monitor Contractor progress within the area of responsibility.
