This full-time contract position in Brunsbüttel, Germany, offers you the opportunity to work on-site, driving a strong safety culture while collaborating with project teams to meet regulatory requirements and promote operational excellence.

Role Overview

  • Support the execution of the project HSE management system to ensure expected levels of HSE performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with project representatives, clients, and contractors.
  • Assist with contractor onboarding, including site and project induction delivery and site familiarization.
  • Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and observations to monitor contractor HSE performance.
  • Maintain a visible on-site presence, engaging with the workforce to identify and address safety concerns.
  • Provide assistance in incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented.
  • Support HSE awareness campaigns to promote continuous hazard awareness and safety culture.
  • Assist in compiling and delivering HSE performance reports as required by the project team.
  • Support administrative HSE tasks as necessary.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and safety management systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HSE management systems.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Fluent in both English and German (spoken and written).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and passionate about safety culture.
  • Well-organized with the ability to work independently and take initiative.

Education & Experience

  • Degree in HSE or equivalent (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma).
  • Membership with a recognized Occupational Health and Safety Institute.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a HSE role within a construction/heavy engineering environment.
