Join our dynamic team as an HSE Advisor and play a pivotal role in ensuring health, safety, and environmental excellence within the construction and heavy engineering sectors. This full-time contract position in Brunsbüttel, Germany, offers you the opportunity to work on-site, driving a strong safety culture while collaborating with project teams to meet regulatory requirements and promote operational excellence.
Role Overview
- Support the execution of the project HSE management system to ensure expected levels of HSE performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with project representatives, clients, and contractors.
- Assist with contractor onboarding, including site and project induction delivery and site familiarization.
- Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and observations to monitor contractor HSE performance.
- Maintain a visible on-site presence, engaging with the workforce to identify and address safety concerns.
- Provide assistance in incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented.
- Support HSE awareness campaigns to promote continuous hazard awareness and safety culture.
- Assist in compiling and delivering HSE performance reports as required by the project team.
- Support administrative HSE tasks as necessary.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and safety management systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HSE management systems.
- Experience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Fluent in both English and German (spoken and written).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proactive, enthusiastic, and passionate about safety culture.
- Well-organized with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
Education & Experience
- Degree in HSE or equivalent (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma).
- Membership with a recognized Occupational Health and Safety Institute.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in a HSE role within a construction/heavy engineering environment.
