Join a leading company in the oil and gas industry as an Instrument and Electrical Technician I, where you will play a vital role in maintaining and installing critical instrument equipment in a dynamic environment.
Role Overview
- Plan, update, and oversee activities in compliance with laws, regulations, and procedures, emphasizing health, safety, and the environment.
- Encourage teamwork between operations, engineering, and project groups.
- Review electrical and control specifications and work practices.
- Accountable for electrical and control systems as per the Work Management Manual.
- Apply and follow work permits through the Permit To Work System (PTWS).
- Ensure quality and timely completion of scheduled maintenance work.
- Develop personal and team technical skills related to new regulations and equipment.
- Attend and instruct technical meetings to keep technicians informed of specifications and technology.
- Maintain open communication on control issues with co-workers.
- Support work prioritization to maximize effectiveness across work groups.
- Provide technical support for maintenance and troubleshooting of instrument and electrical systems.
- Generate Management of Change requests (MOCs) for electrical and control-related equipment.
- Construct, monitor, and inspect new installations for consistency with mission objectives.
- Act as a stand-in for the Instrument and Electrical Lead position as needed.
Skills & Qualifications
- Electrical Engineering: Proficient in maintaining electrical systems and instrumentation.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with regulations applicable to oil and gas facilities.
- OIMS Systems: Understanding of Operations Integrity Management System procedures.
- Technical Competencies: Meets safety, administrative, and technical training requirements.
- Computing Skills: Proficient in relevant software applications.
Education & Experience
- Minimum grade 12 or equivalent high school education, preferably with technical school courses.
- Experience in maintaining electrical systems and instrumentation in processing or offshore production plants.
