INSTRUMENT (ICSS) ENGINEER
Join our dynamic team as an Instrumentation & Control System Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in the East African Crude Oil Pipeline project. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major midstream development that will transport crude oil across Uganda and Tanzania, ensuring operational excellence and safety in a critical industry.
Role Overview
Assist and support the Field Operation team for all maintenance and inspection activities related to ICSS, Instrumentation, and Telecom.
Responsible for all aspects related to ICSS and Instrumentation during the maintenance and inspection engineering phase.
Support maintenance needs of instrument, ICSS, and telecom including associated services company and contracts during operation.
Ensure Instrumentation, ICSS, and Telecom support teams meet obligations in terms of maintenance strategy update, performance monitoring, contract, and stock strategy.
Produce and review guidance documents, procedures, and standards related to ICSS and Instrumentation.
Follow ICSS major maintenance & updates and ensure implementation of operation and maintenance strategy based on Field Operations objectives.
Assess and audit CONTRACTOR procedures managing material repair in workshops.
Optimize CONTRACTOR maintenance plans on instrumentation and ICSS to reduce downtime and costs.
Implement and sustain cybersecurity solutions to guard industrial networks against cyber-attacks.
Act as PI system Administrator for Field Operations, managing PI sustenance and development.
Develop periodic reporting activities of the Discipline and follow them.
Train and coach local staff to manage autonomously.
Skills & Qualifications
Commissioning: Proven experience in commissioning processes.
Brownfield Projects: Familiarity with brownfield project environments.
Security: Knowledge of cybersecurity solutions for industrial networks.
ICSS: Experience with Integrated Control and Safety Systems.
Instrumentation: Strong background in instrumentation systems.
Telecom: Understanding of telecommunications systems.
CMMS: Proficient in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
PI System Administration: Experience in managing PI systems.
Education & Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
Certifications: Relevant certifications in Instrumentation or Control Systems are advantageous.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in instrumentation and control systems engineering, preferably in oil & gas or similar industries.
