Join a leading organization in the refining industry as a Laboratory Technician I, where you'll play a crucial role in supporting laboratory operations and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Role Overview

  • Perform analyses of laboratory standards, in-process samples, finished products, and outfall water using approved analytical methods.
  • Document regulatory data and maintain complete records in accordance with the Laboratory Quality Assurance program.
  • Coordinate sample pickup and logistics with environmental lab personnel, generating data analysis reports for engineers, operations, and maintenance.
  • Maintain lab equipment and ensure a clean, contaminant-free work area; execute QA/QC checks to guarantee accuracy and integrity of results.
  • Apply analytical standards/methods and regulatory requirements; utilize problem-solving skills to address technical issues.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills daily, including communication, listening, teamwork, and leadership; comply with lab/company policies and applicable regulations.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Basic math and analytical skills.
  • Hands-on experience with common refinery instruments (e.g., GC, HPLC, XRF, ICP) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of refinery laboratory QA programs and loss control is advantageous.
  • Experience with environmental/outfall water monitoring and reporting.

Education & Experience

  • 1+ years of refinery or chemical laboratory experience OR an associate’s degree or higher in a science/technical field.
  • Valid TWIC credential.

Pay & Benefits

  • Full-time contract position from 29-Dec-2025 to 29-Jun-2026 with potential for extension.
  • 12-hour rotating shift schedule; overtime may be required.
