Elevate Your Career as a Land Advisor / Representative I

We’re seeking a Land Advisor / Representative I to manage surface-related activities for oil and gas development in the Carlsbad, NM area. This is a field-based role for a professional who thrives in dynamic environments, excels at building relationships, and brings strong technical knowledge of surface land agreements and regulatory compliance.


Key Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in land management or surface land roles
  • Proven ability to negotiate and draft agreements, including Surface and Subsurface Use Agreements, ROW/TB Agreements, and Water Purchase Agreements
  • Strong communication skills with landowners and stakeholders, especially in rural communities
  • Familiarity with oil & gas operations and agricultural/ranching practices
  • Full understanding of BLM ROWs, SF-299 submissions, and surface disturbance requirements
  • Ability to review, submit, and finalize NMDOT pipeline, road, and electrical crossing permits
  • Comfortable with daily field work, extensive windshield time, and occasional office visits

Role Overview

  • Consult with surface owners on drill site locations, ingress/egress routes, roads, pits, ROWs, water purchase agreements, and damage settlements
  • Negotiate and execute commercial agreements ensuring functional alignment
  • Coordinate survey schedules and accompany survey/construction teams to stake multi-well pads
  • Visit oil and saltwater spill sites; coordinate cleanup efforts and document reportable spills
  • Interface daily with Environmental teams on remediation progress and landowner requirements
  • Promote and enforce company safety guidelines among vendors and contractors
  • Manage regulatory submissions for ROWs, SF-299, and NMDOT permits
