Lead Building Architect

Position Overview

This position exists to provide expert architectural leadership for an offshore project within the energy sector. The role is focused on the management and coordination of architecture studies for offshore buildings, encompassing structural design, technical evaluation, documentation oversight, and vendor interface, in support of a major engineering project.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Leadership & Strategy

  • Guide technical decisions to achieve project objectives, including integration of buildings into module structures.
  • Propose and evaluate technical choices optimizing construction and scheduling outcomes.
  • Organize and lead interdisciplinary meetings with vendors, partners, and the client.

Quality Compliance & Oversight

  • Ensure all documents produced meet technical, content, and presentation quality standards.
  • Review and approve vendor documentation in line with project and contract requirements.
  • Monitor and technically validate architectural drawings against project-specific rules and engineering standards.

Project Execution Support

  • Participate in clarification and evaluation meetings with vendors.
  • Prepare evaluation matrices to support vendor selection processes.
  • Interface effectively with other project disciplines such as Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical, Telecom, and Piping.

Reporting & Performance Management

  • Provide monthly activity reports detailing hours spent and progress against targets.
  • Monitor progress in accordance with project planning objectives set by the company.
  • Track and manage hour budgets related to architectural activities.

Training & Continuous Improvement

  • Apply engineering best practices and comply with applicable Quality Assurance procedures throughout project execution.
  • Promote strong organizational and coordination capabilities within the project team.
  • Support continuous improvement through adherence to project standards, rules, and instructions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Mastery of offshore architectural standards relevant to building design and construction.
  • Significant expertise in offshore building architecture including structural design, layout, and material selection.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate technical studies and manage complex interfaces within engineering projects.

Key Competencies

  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills for interdisciplinary and vendor meetings.
  • Proficient in monitoring technical progress and validating complex engineering documentation.
  • Strong communication and reporting abilities, supporting effective project delivery and documentation quality.
