Join a dynamic team in the oil and gas industry as a Lease Operator I, where you'll play a crucial role in the safe and efficient operations of wells and processing units.
Role Overview
- Ensure personal and co-worker safety by following and enforcing all safety rules.
- Act as the primary operations contact for facilities, understanding process flow and safety equipment.
- Conduct physical inspections and monitoring of equipment to ensure correct operation.
- Issue Safe Work Permits, demonstrating proficiency in operating conditions and safety risks.
- Perform gas testing to maintain a safe operating area for maintenance activities.
- Monitor processes including gauge tanks, meter readings, and product sampling.
- Conduct visual maintenance checks on critical performance parameters.
- Adjust local process parameters to maintain product specifications.
- Maintain company vehicle in good working condition.
- Coordinate oil sales and saltwater hauling as necessary.
- Keep accurate electronic or paper gauge sheets and document production changes.
- Check control valve positions to ensure proper operation.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance tasks.
- Communicate with Production Foreman regarding process conditions.
- Execute winterization and summarization of equipment for efficiency.
- Monitor field equipment using electronic test equipment.
- Inspect safety equipment including valves, extinguishers, and breathing apparatus.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to environmental policies to minimize impacts.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance and support team objectives.
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to maintain, operate, and repair surface equipment for oil and gas production.
- Proficient in computer usage with strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs and climb ladders/stairways.
- Experience with Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and safety detectors.
Education & Experience
- High School diploma required.
- Previous experience in a closely related position preferred.
- Must be willing to work on a rotating shift and be available for call-out.
