Airswift is currently looking for a Logistics First Line Supervisor (Rotator) to work with an Oil and gas Operator Company.
Position: Logistics First Line Supervisor (Rotator)
Assignment Location: Afungi
Onshore Rotation: 28 days on 28 days off
Reporting to: Logistic Advisor
Duration: 2 years extendable
MAIN FUNCTIONS
Manage the transportation and storage of equipment, materials, products, and goods, to enable constraint-free project execution at the construction site in Afungi, the logistics terminal in Pemba, and Mocimboa da Praia.
Provide coordination and oversight of warehouses, terminals, overland (truck/rail) or marine (ship/barge) carriers to meet required service levels, protect product quality, ensuring safe, and reliable logistics execution.
Serve as the interface between the Logistics Advisor, the construction site in Afungi, and the ports in Mocimboa da Praia, and Pemba to ensure safe, efficient, and timely logistics execution.
Coordinate and manage services, and technical evaluations for aviation, marine, shorebases, and ground transportation requirements.
Possess a broad understanding of heavy haul transportation, lifting operations, waste management, materials quality control, and equipment / material preservation.
Collaborate with the Maputo-based Project Team and Supply Chain organization in support of the management of logistics, materials handling, storage and preservation.
Provides support to travellers to Pemba and Afungi (including Contractors), to ensure travellers are abiding by the travel process prescribed within the EMML Travel Services Guide.
Collaboration with the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors’ Logistics and Materials Management organization.
Foster a collaborative and positive working relationship with the contractor group and the other operators within Afungi.
Consistently apply logistics tools and best practices.
Find aligned solutions within a challenging environment.
Leading efforts to operationalize logistics related deliverables to support project execution.
Continuous assessment of the effectiveness of logistics programs; propose adjustments to ensure continuous improvement and attainment of desired results.
Advise on trend analysis to focus on targeted continuous improvement opportunities.
Implementation of Safety Systems (PSMS) as appropriate.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Track all equipment/material transiting through Pemba, Mocimboa da Praia, and Afungi, then expedite equipment/material as required in support of the construction schedule.
Coordinate the importation and customs clearance of all shipments.
Ensure compliance with Mozambican trade regulations, and laws pertaining to importation and customs clearance.
Demonstrate an understanding of local transport and in-country logistics capabilities and capacities.
Demonstrate Logistics and Materials Management expertise when interfacing with Contractor Logistics and Materials Management personnel.
Interface with project planning teams to identify optimization opportunities, understand, then resolve logistics challenges.
Possess a general knowledge of local and national environmental and regulatory requirements.
Assist with the planning and execution of personnel travel to Pemba and Afungi.
Field incoming calls and emails, responding appropriately and timely.
Attend project planning and prioritization meetings.
Interface with and influence project disciplines to ensure logistics / materials management considerations are incorporated within both the design and project plan.
Monitor KPIs, and steward the development of material status reports.
Maintain an accounting of each shipment.
Possess a strong understanding of the capabilities and limitations of Logistics Contractors.
Support the process to pre-qualify, approve, and re-evaluate Logistics Contractors.
Interface with the Logistics Advisor to keep them informed of the qualifications and capabilities of relevant Contractors.
Interface with Contractors to ensure safety, quality, availability, and reliability of logistics execution.
Support the qualification and endorsement of Contractor equipment and services.
Verify that delivery documentation is complete, and in accordance with the P.O.
Ensure that the EPC contractor complies with the PO and that each item delivered is adequately marked for easy traceability.
Report all Overage, Shortage and Damaged (OS&D) materials to the PMT.
