JOB PURPOSE & KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The purpose of the role is to supervise and monitor marine operations to ensure compliance with international codes, classification society, flag state, local regulations, and internal procedures. The job holder will contribute to a robust marine crew, watercraft, and contractor vetting and monitoring program to reduce exposure to major marine risks during operational activities. This is primarily an offshore-based role in a dynamic and physically demanding environment.
HSE

- Propose and monitor strategies and technology to support greenhouse gas reduction targets.
- Support marine incident investigations and reporting processes, ensuring root cause identification and lessons learned.

Operations
- Support the creation and review of CMS standards and guidelines.
- Encourage development of local talent, ensuring development plans are followed and knowledge shared.

- Ensure CMS rules, standards, and guidelines covering marine crew and watercraft are applied and monitored in accordance with international regulations and standards.
- Maintain a robust marine vetting and assurance program, ensuring chartered vessels and crew comply with international regulations and standards.
- Support contract management and ensure compliance with procedural and contractual requirements.
- Support operational changes to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Provide routine updates on highlights, concerns, and trends related to marine activity.
- Support project teams and stakeholders with operational standards, safety protocols, and best practices.
- Participate in industry forums related to marine operations.
- Provide backup support for Marine Supervisor (JUB) during sickness or operational need.
CONTEXT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The role is based offshore onboard chartered watercraft on a 28/28 rotational basis.
- Occasional assignment onshore may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Master Mariner, Chief Engineer, Marine Warranty Surveyor, Merchant Naval Officer/Engineer, or Degree Equivalent.
- 8 years of marine & offshore installation experience, with 2+ years at senior level.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of DP systems, operations, trials, and standards.
- Extensive knowledge of marine operations in support of offshore oil and gas activity.
- Good knowledge of international maritime regulations, standards, and codes.
- Experienced in marine assurance and technical writing.
