Job Overview:
The Process/Mechanical Project Engineer will provide Engineering support to the company's GOM assets with particular focus on Process optimization and mechanical sizing of equipment. The candidate will work closely with Operations and Capital Projects on optimization, development, modification and refurbishment of the company's assets located in GoM.
The ideal candidate has a strong process/mechanical engineering background and detailed knowledge of the content and application of standards, codes and guidelines as applicable by CFRs, BSEE.
The tasks will be mainly the development of an assigned project scope of work and/or specific deliverables in the various phases of the project Pre-FEED, FEED and EPCI. A typical assignment includes management of assigned scopes of work in brownfield projects including engineering design/studies, equipment procurement and installation. The candidate will assists the project manager and will manage engineering company by providing guidance on the assigned scopes; maintains and promotes a focus on engineering, fabrication, construction and offshore installation; ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines; manages own time to meet agreed deadlines and budgets and develop plans for short-term and medium-term work activities; ensures highest work priorities are addressed; ensures effective management of change; assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity and budget control.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Gather data, including production data, product specs and site condition data;
Provide recommendation to optimize the Plant process/mechanical design
Responsible for specifying/reviewing the following key deliverables
Process simulations / heat and material balance.
Process flow diagrams (PFD).
Piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID).
Process and Mechanical specifications.
Equipment mechanical datasheets in accordance with process data.
Equipment list (process and mechanical data).
Line list
Depressurization and flare study, radiation study etc..
Equipment and line sizing calculations
Process studies.
Heat and Material Balance (H&MB) Simulations
Assist in close out of HAZOP action items.
Check the completed Operating Manual.
Reviews and approves Process Specific Management Of Change (MOC).
Provide assistance throughout the projects from Project Scope definition to Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Installation, precommissioning and commissioning
Support the project manager in Coordination and monitoring all assigned projects, the definition and development of
Project Scope, monitoring compliance in all aspects of the project
Project Team
Project Contracting Strategy,
Project Schedule,
Project Procurement Activities,
Communication Protocols during interactions with Project Team and with Contractors
Project Quality Control in every area, including team dynamics, personnel performance, planning, scheduling and budget
Project Reporting
Coordinate with procurement function to develop support documentation (Scope of Work) to issue for Tenders, manage Technical Clarifications and develop Bid Evaluation Reports in accordance with COMPANY policies and standards.
Promotes the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) aspects of the work.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Accredited Chemical or Mechanical engineering degree (Master's degree preferred).
15+ years of process engineering and project engineering experience in lead roles with experience in Offshore Projects.
Is familiar with Process/Mechanical designs and unit operations.
Is capable of appropriate use of computer applications (such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project or Primavera P6) and other specialized engineering tools (such as Hysis, Olga, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
P.E. certificate of registration
Master's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

Eligibility to work in the United States
Work at Houston office in a hybrid mode (3 days in office per week minimum).
