About the Role

The Mechanical Technician II ensures the safe and efficient operation of compressor station systems critical to gas delivery. This role involves inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment, including turbines, compressors, and auxiliary systems. It requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot turbine/compressor package units and auxiliary equipment.
  • Monitor operational pressures, alarm set points, and respond to abnormal conditions.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on air systems, fuel systems, cooling water systems, oil systems, and safety systems.
  • Complete accurate documentation and reports related to equipment maintenance.
  • Participate in design reviews and interpret technical diagrams and one-line drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, PHMSA, EPA regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist in planning work and provide budget-related information as required.
  • Work independently on standard assignments and collaborate effectively as part of a team.

Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience.
Other:

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks (lifting up to 25 lbs, climbing, bending, crawling).
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, shifts, on-call, and travel overnight as required.
  • Reside or relocate within 30 miles of the reporting location.
