Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Operations Technician to support daily production activities across multiple well sites. This role is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining well equipment, including gas lift systems, ESPs, three?phase separation units, and gas compression infrastructure.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in field operations, routine maintenance tasks, and performance optimization. This position plays a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous production across active assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor well systems, including gas lift wells, ESPs, three?phase separators, pipelines, and gas compression units
- Conduct routine rounds, collect readings, and perform minor maintenance on valves, pumps, and rotating equipment
- Issue work permits, follow established procedures, and initiate work requests when needed
- Collaborate with support teams to adjust chemical injection rates based on production conditions (corrosion, paraffin, soap injection, etc.)
- Monitor equipment and well performance to proactively identify issues and maximize production
- Coordinate with Engineering for data collection and operational support
- Perform fluid level measurements using echo meter tools
- Track, log, and report test data related to compression and equipment operation
- Assist other operators and craft personnel as needed to support daily tasks
Basic / Required Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in:
- Well operations, equipment monitoring, and basic troubleshooting
- Handling gas lift systems, ESP operations, and separation processes
- Routine maintenance within production environments
- Understanding of standard field procedures, terminology, and safety requirements
- Performing daily operational tasks with minimal supervision
- Making basic operational decisions and solving routine problems
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification or associate degree in a related field
- Previous experience in oilfield production operations
- Familiarity with compression systems, chemical injection programs, and pipeline operations
- Experience writing basic procedures or documentation for operational tasks
Required Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Working knowledge of production equipment, separation processes, and well performance concepts
- Ability to perform routine inspections, take accurate readings, and maintain detailed documentation
- Solid communication skills for coordinating with field teams, engineers, and support groups
- Strong attention to detail in tracking data and maintaining operational accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks safely in a fast?paced field environment
