Offshore Brownfield Construction Lead(Nationals Only)

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Reports to the Project Construction Manager (PCM) or Discipline Lead (DL) and is a member of the Construction Leadership Team.

Supports the PCM or DL to achieve construction quality and construction performance and ensure delivery of construction targets that include site HSSE performance, and achievement of construction cost & schedule targets.

The Construction Lead will lead deliver the construction elements of offshore Brown Filed part of SDC project through to mechanical completion, ensuring that the facilities are constructed and handed over in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner, integrating all inputs and meeting the engineering and quality intent.

The Construction Lead shall have construction experience on different construction sites (greenfield, brownfield, Onshore, offshore). Has deep expertise in the application of construction engineering practices and technologies. Has experience in dealing with and managing construction contractors and understands CLIENT ’s processes and procedures.

KEY ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES

The SDC BF Offshore Construction Lead will be responsible for delivery of structural construction/installation across the SDC Offshore BF facilities, with specific emphasis as follows;

• Lives the CLIENT  values and supports the PCM or DL in implementation.

• Responsible to the PCM or DL for delivery of safe project construction performance.

• Promoting project HSE objectives and supporting the PCM in develop a strong safety culture.

• Acts as Site Area Safety Leader (SASL) for specific areas of project or Site Safety Leader (SSL) as required on smaller projects.

• Provide guidance to Contractor teams in all aspects of the construction, including HSE, Quality, schedule related issues.

• Responsibility for ensuring given construction scopes meet all prescribed quality standards.

• Identifies construction execution risks at appropriate project stages for smaller work scopes and manages risks in accordance with the project risk management plan. Participates in the Risk Management Process including task risk assessment meetings.

• Support/Lead the development of the construction execution plan for Brown Field or smaller projects work scopes, with detailed schedule, resource plan and budget in line with the overall project execution plan.

• Manages a multi-discipline construction team (Client  and or Contractor) and co-ordinates the work of the team to ensure work is performed effectively and efficiently Strong people skills, ability to lead by example.

• Manages construction work scope development and construction contractor selection for Brown Field or smaller project work scopes, manages changes to scope, then ensures delivery within the plan.

• Sets performance targets for construction for Brown Field or smaller project work scopes and manages construction activities and contractor performance against these targets, intervening as needed to ensure they are met.

• Ensures conformance to Client ’s requirements for Brown Field or smaller project work scopes and drives compliance with all OMS, technical integrity and HSSE expectations, often acting as delegate site safety leader.

• Builds and maintains relationships with stakeholders for Brown Field or smaller project work scopes, leads co-ordination of key contractor and construction interfaces within area of responsibility to ensure smooth construction execution.

• Leads construction reviews (and contributes to other functional reviews) for Brown Filed or smaller project work scopes as required by Client ’s project common process and implements the construction self-verification programme within area of responsibility.

• Assist in the Construction team Lessons Learned Process and Embeds and shares construction learnings, networking with the community of practice and engaging with specialists when required, within area of responsibility.

• Review and approval of Contractor documentation, e.g. procedures, Work packs, specifications and drawings.

• Witnessing and approving site acceptance tests and promote quality build approach.

• Mentor and assist in training of junior staff as required.

• Lead appropriate assurance and control processes prior to proceeding with high risk or significant construction activities.
