Overview
The role involves structural calculations for offshore steel structures, including ECA studies, fracture mechanics and crack propagation assessments, coordination with engineering teams, and preparation of technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Perform ECA and crack propagation studies.
- Conduct FFS fracture mechanics analyses per BS 7910.
- Apply offshore design codes (DNV, API, ISO).
- Carry out structural analysis using SACS and Staad.Pro.
- Perform fracture mechanics simulations using Crackwise.
- Support engineering and drafting teams.
- Coordinate with international engineering groups.
- Produce calculation notes and drawings.
- Follow engineering procedures and quality requirements.
Required Experience & Skills
- 10+ years as a structural engineer on offshore topside EPC projects.
- 2+ years in fatigue and fracture mechanics for offshore structures or pipelines.
- Experience working with international engineering centres.
- Knowledge of offshore modular structural design.
- Proficiency in SACS, Staad.Pro, and Crackwise.
- Understanding of welded assemblies and common NDT methods.
- Strong documentation and reporting discipline.
- Strong English communication skills.
