Our client, major LNG Operator in Qatar, is hiring for
Pipeline Engineering Specialist
to work for major offshore project (Offshore Brownfield & Greenfield scope). This is a contract and residential role to be based in Qatar with initial contract duration of 2 years (renewable).Job Purpose
The NFXP Offshore Pipelines Engineering Specialist supports the delivery of all aspects of Pipelines design covering equipment, materials and technical design. Effectively collaborates and interfaces with engineering and contractor engineers and Operations personnel (as required) to ensure that the Pipelines design scope of supply is fully integrated and optimised.
Key Job Accountabilities:
Ensures that the Contractor’s onshore, offshore, pipeline and subsea welding integrity comply with the Contract requirements including codes and standards. Provides guidance to the contractor to promote compliance.
Plans and schedules the materials, welding and package engineering deliverables to enable efficient project execution, ensuring technical alignment and compliance with operational policies, standards of business conduct and project management system.
Supervises and ensures that the Contractor’s functional safety of onshore facilities (offshore scope) engineering and pipeline materials and welding comply with the Contract requirements including codes and standards. Provides guidance to the contractor to promote compliance.
Participates in key design workshop and ensures that pipeline materials and welding package functional safety design recommendations are correctly implemented, and actions closed before the end of EPCI (lessons learned, value engineering, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, engineering
criticality assessment, etc.).
Supervises the engineering interface between the onshore facilities (offshore scope), pipeline engineering, and the following teams: Operations, Drilling, Well Management, Jacket, Topsides from the pipelines perspective, the onshore project team.
Supports the materials and pipeline related purchase orders with the EPC Contractor and system Vendor in accordance with the roles and responsibilities given in the contract to ensure safe and seamless integration of the systems without any disturbance to the existing operating
facilities.
Supports NFXP pipeline engineering manager in monitoring the contractor’s progress on delivery of the required documents in the piping and Pipeline disciplines.
Coordinates with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with respect to the disciplines involved in delivery of the packages related to pipelines materials and welding and ensures endorsement of materials technical deviations to Company specifications when required.
Ensures compliance with management of change procedures for changes in the contractor’s design or deviations from the company directives.
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in a related engineering discipline
8 years of closely related professional experience, 5 years of which should be at the project engineering / detailed engineering level in the Oil & Gas Industry.
Knowledge and/or Experience
Strong organizational, management, and technical judgment skills
Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
Excellent communication skills and ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, Lotus Notes, etc.
Technical and Business Skills:
Broad knowledge of design requirements of Pipelines engineering groups and disciplines
Execute work in full compliance with Company Standards of Business Conduct and Project Management System (PMS)
Broad range of experience and skills through multiple function and project assignments (Multi-discipline skill set)
