Piping/Valve Engineer
Join a dynamic team as a Lead Piping & Valves Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in the Mozambique LNG Project, a groundbreaking initiative in the liquefied natural gas industry. This is your chance to contribute to a project with an estimated cost of $18 billion, ensuring the successful engineering and implementation of state-of-the-art piping systems and valves.
Role Overview
Assure the issuance, review, and approval of approximately 2,000 technical documents related to Piping & Valves discipline.
Ensure adherence to all Project HSE requirements and actively promote a safety culture throughout mechanical design activities.
Review detailed engineering works related to Piping, Layout, and Valves, ensuring compliance with Project Scope of Work, Specifications, Procedures, and international codes.
Supervise the review of piping stress and vibration studies.
Identify deviations from the Project Basis of Requirements and report them to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.
Provide technical support for Contractor and Vendor clarifications and derogation requests.
Participate in the preparation and execution of Inspection and Tests Plans (ITP) and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
Assist in reviewing piping and valves-related subjects within other discipline deliverables.
Engage in PI&D reviews, HAZOP, and other safety review meetings.
Report any quality or discipline progress concerns to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.
Ensure quality and completeness of Final Documentation for hand-over to Operations.
Support HSEQ Project objectives and directives in compliance with the Project HSEQ management system.
Respond quickly to site queries and unexpected technical problems during site activities to avoid Contractor delays.
Skills & Qualifications
Proficient knowledge in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) systems.
Experience in conducting audits related to piping and valve engineering.
Familiarity with Piping Design Philosophy, Plot Plans, Layout Drawings, and 3D Models.
Expertise in Piping and Valve Specifications, Material Take-Off (MTO), and Piping Supports and Hangers.
Knowledge of Acoustic and Flow Induced Vibration Analysis.
Experience in Thermal and Mechanical Stress Analysis.
Ability to create Piping SP Items Data Sheets and Mechanical Material Handling Reports.
Competence in Technical Bid Analysis.
Education & Experience
Degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline.
Registration as a Chartered Engineer, PE, or equivalent preferred.
Proficient in English language.
Minimum eight (8) years of experience in Oil and Gas and large projects.
Strong understanding of design and operation of Piping and Valves on large-scale LNG plants.
