Our client, a major O&G company, is looking for a Planner/Scheduler to work on a long term contract in Duluth, MN.

Supports large-scale, complex capital projects by leading the planning and scheduling function from early development through execution. The Planner/Scheduler will provide expert-level schedule development, analysis, and guidance, ensuring alignment with project objectives and supporting decision-making across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Support projects exceeding $50MM/year, typically multiyear and with high complexity.

  • Utilize expert knowledge of Primavera P6 to develop, maintain, and optimize project schedules.

  • Interpret internal and external business issues and recommend best practices.

  • Solve complex planning and scheduling challenges, applying innovative and broad-perspective solutions.

  • Work independently, receiving guidance only in highly complex scenarios.

  • Lead functional teams or project workstreams as required.

  • Provide clear direction and support to Project Execution personnel.

  • Lead project teams and demonstrate strong leadership and facilitation skills.

  • Teach project controls theory across functional areas within Major Projects.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve project controls issues, implementing effective adjustments.

  • Make sound, informed decisions while considering broader project impacts.

  • Perform work within broad guidelines while aligning with overall objectives and priorities.

  • Assign and review work for technical accuracy and adequacy, ensuring alignment with project goals.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering; Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or equivalent preferred.

  • 7–10 years of work experience, including at least 2+ years in construction or project environments.

  • Proven high performer based on prior performance evaluations.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.

  • Recognized expert in project planning and scheduling, considered an industry leader.

  • Expert-level proficiency with Primavera P6.

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor others and contribute to the development of project controls capability.

  • Career progression at this level aligns with readiness for a full Project Management role.
