Airswift is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join the Nuclear Supply Chain organization on an initial assignment. This intermediate-level role manages procurement of products and services that align with Business Unit requirements and standards. The position involves solving complex problems with some specialization and working with general direction from management.
Responsibilities
Provide plant coverage (24/7) during outages and online periods in accordance with developed schedules.
Serve as the primary online coordinator and participate in weekly rotating duty roster to support emergent needs after hours and weekends.
Attain qualifications to approve purchase requisitions, issue purchase orders and contracts, and track/expedite materials and parts for scheduled work and outages.
Deliver advanced procurement services including expediting, resolving invoice mismatches, managing pricing and inventory, material transfers, and logistics issues.
Utilize Power Advocate for bid events with limited management direction and promote cost savings and inventory reduction strategies.
Develop and maintain supplier relationships, negotiate cost savings, and ensure compliance with agreements.
Provide guidance on procurement processes, sourcing options, and materials management strategies to avoid procurement issues.
Ensure compliance with federal/state laws, Duke Energy standards, and sound procurement practices.
Analyze and evaluate supplier performance and manage daily, monthly, and quarterly reports.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree + 2 years’ work experience OR Associate degree + 4 years OR High School/GED + 6 years.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
Experience in purchasing, coordination, and customer service.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree + 2 years related experience.
Advanced business acumen and customer service skills.
Familiarity with procurement and inventory management practices.
