Production CCR Supervisor
Location: Milan, Italy for approx 12 months, before moving to site rotational role in Mozambique
Working Hours: Monday-Friday in Milan
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 12 month initial contract
Position Overview
This position is responsible for supervising and managing all Panel Operator activities within the Central Control Room (CCR) of a major LNG plant. The role exists to ensure alignment between field and control room activities, execute plant optimization initiatives, and support the achievement of continuous, safe, and efficient LNG production output.
Key Responsibilities
During Engineering Phase:
- Review engineering documents for consistency with operational standards and company objectives.
- Develop and implement production procedures, start-up sequences and production tools aligned with safety and efficiency targets.
- Participate in plant-wide engineering reviews including HAZOP, DCS FATs, and alarm reduction initiatives.
- Develop and implement production processes (PTW, inhibitions, downgraded situations, safety tours, logs, SIMOPs)
- Develop the list of Production tools
- Implement digital solutions (digital twin, PI, etc.)
- Recruit and train Production staff
During the Operation phase:
- Enforce HSE and company policies, adhering to confidentiality and compliance requirements.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping for CCR and related facilities, ensuring a safe and organized environment for all operational activities.
- Manage all inhibitions of plant safety devices, ensuring proper documentation and safe restoration of devices to standard conditions.
- Ensure effective communication protocols between panel and field operators through strict PTW system adherence.
- Oversee monitoring and adjustment of production parameters to maintain optimal plant performance.
- Guide panel operators during start-ups, shutdowns, troubleshooting, and emergency situations.
- Record and report all downgraded situations, main events, and operational deviations.
- Participate in the analysis of plant upsets, incidents, alarm and event logs, and support ongoing root cause investigations.
- Contribute to the optimization of plant production to enhance cost-efficiency and resource utilization.
- Lead and develop the CCR team, providing exposure to DCS systems and ICSS architecture.
- Deliver targeted training and performance assessments of operational staff, particularly future panel operators and Mozambican personnel.
- Conduct regular appraisals, set clear objectives for subordinates, and promote a strong safety and improvement culture.
Qualifications & Experience
- Extensive experience in LNG Production Plants (not Terminals)
- Expert knowledge of DCS panel operations, Safety Shutdown Systems (ESD, ESD1, ESD2, EDP1, EDP2, safety bar), and oil & gas/LNG production processes.
- Advanced skills in troubleshooting process problems, HSE/environment management, and PTW systems within the oil & gas sector.
- High level of proficiency in emergency response, Windows Office applications, and written and spoken English.
