Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Production Technician to safely and efficiently operate wells and production equipment across an assigned route. The role involves daily monitoring of production performance, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions using digital tools such as Production Viewer, PI, Cygnet, and other operational software.

The Production Technician will develop step-by-step action plans to maintain or exceed performance targets, verify inspections, ensure accurate coding, and collaborate with technical teams when troubleshooting is required. The position also includes operating and maintaining various production-related equipment such as wellheads, compressors, separators, heater treaters, and additional surface systems.

Support across other field areas may be required once daily route responsibilities and key performance metrics have been met.


Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and monitor wells and production locations on an assigned route.
  • Identify production variances using digital tools and initiate corrective actions.
  • Develop and execute action plans to maintain or exceed daily clean average targets.
  • Collaborate with technical teams including lead technicians, optimizers, and production foremen.
  • Conduct and verify site and plunger inspections to ensure compliance with performance metrics.
  • Use business intelligence tools to track inspection status and prevent overdue tasks.
  • Review operational data to identify gaps, verifications, and SIMOPS impacts.
  • Maintain required verification?to?gap targets throughout the year.
  • Ensure operational coding is accurate, current, and aligned with troubleshooting steps.
  • Reassign wells to appropriate operational statuses based on conditions and targets.
  • Follow up on outstanding engineering and optimization items.
  • Provide field assistance in additional areas after meeting route metrics.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment including wellheads, coolers, separators, heater treaters, blowcases, compressors, scrubbers, chemical loops, and associated systems.
  • Manage tank levels and ensure proper operation of recirculation equipment.

Basic / Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree or relevant technical certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in production operations, process technician work, or a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
  • Proficiency with production monitoring tools such as PI, Cygnet, and equivalent systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and correct production issues.
  • Experience developing and executing operational action plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet key performance metrics and inspection requirements.
  • Familiarity with digital tools used for verification and operational tracking.
  • Strong attention to detail in documentation, coding, and troubleshooting workflows.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross?functional field and technical teams.
  • Hands?on experience operating and troubleshooting a variety of production equipment.
  • Ability to manage tank systems, pressures, and recirculation processes.
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in production operations, industrial process technology, or similar fields.
  • Experience working with process monitoring tools, operational analytics platforms, or digital field systems.
  • Prior work in environments requiring extensive equipment troubleshooting and route-based operations.
  • Understanding of recordkeeping, operational reporting, and production optimization workflows.

Required Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Knowledge of inspection procedures, pressure measurement, and surface equipment.
  • Strong communication skills for coordination with operations and technical personnel.
  • Ability to read and interpret operational data, equipment readings, and technical documents.
  • Familiarity with industrial valves, SOPs, and production processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to multitask safely in a dynamic field environment.
