Production Train Panel Operator
Position Overview
This position is focused on monitoring and controlling all operating conditions of LNG process trains, identifying and resolving system faults or safety issues, and providing expert technical support to field operators. The company operates in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industry, delivering LNG production targets and prioritising safety and environment protection in all operations.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Leadership & Strategy
- Ensure safety of personnel and technical integrity of equipment, implementing HSE rules and procedures.
- Promote a safety culture and contribute towards continual HSE improvement through demonstrated safety behaviours.
- Support maintenance and continual improvement of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System requirements and other management initiatives.
Quality Compliance & Oversight
- Actively participate in near miss analyses, HAZOPs, technical reviews, risk assessments, safety audits, RCA, incident and accident analyses as required.
- Identify and report HSE anomalies and potential safety problems, warning others of hazards.
- Perform roles defined by Company Work Permit System, including PTW opening/closing and SIMOPS management plans, and manage plant safety device inhibitions with appropriate risk assessment.
Project Execution Support
- Monitor and control plant production parameters to ensure achievement of production targets and smooth operations.
- Follow up and implement requested changes to process parameters as per Production daily instructions.
- Participate and assist in plant and equipment performance tests and testing of plant safety equipment, ensuring accurate recording within HSE dossiers.
Reporting & Performance Management
- Correct controller set points to recommended values and report deviations to CCR Supervisor.
- Log main events and conduct effective handover at the end of each shift.
- Reduce and optimise flaring by maximising plant performance and taking corrective actions.
Training & Continuous Improvement
- Undertake training and development, assess improvements, and actively pursue personal skills broadening.
- Provide guidance and support to Process Operators and help maintain proper coordination between activities.
- Train and mentor future panel operators in DCS operation and ICSS architecture.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor or higher education in Applied Science, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent meeting international standards.
- Minimum 10 years of production experience in oil, gas, or petrochemical industry.
- At least 5 years’ experience as LNG Train Panel Operator (not LNG terminal).
Key Competencies
- Expert knowledge of DCS panel operations and Safety Shutdown Systems (ESD, ESD1, ESD2, EDP1, EDP2, safety bars).
- Strong abilities in troubleshooting process problems and upsets.
- High proficiency in HSE and Environment Management systems, PTW systems in oil & gas, emergency response protocols, and computer Windows Office applications.
